Description

The HK31020-103 Pro S Paring Knife has a 4″ blade. Carl Heimerdinger’s great-grandfather (W. C.) and grandfather (W.G.) went to the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904. They met with the Henckels people. We have been a Henckels dealer since that time over 100 years.

This cooks or chefs knife is specifically designed to slice, mince and chop vegetables.  The wide blade helps give a even and thin slice.

Additionally, using lasers to measure the edged of the blade ensures a sharp blade.  An enhanced bolster design makes for a stronger, more balanced knife. It has Novodur handle scales which are unbreakable. Henckels forges their blades to make them stronger. The blade is ice-hardened and made from high carbon stain resistant steel.

Because they are stainless steel they will not rust in moist conditions. They could possibly stain under greatly adverse conditions. In that event  the stains are not rust and will not affect their quality performance. We recommend that your not put your knives in the dishwasher.

Despite being stainless the dishwasher detergent can be very caustic and may cause pitting . The pitting will affect the edges of your knife. Also the knives will rattle around and that can knock off the edge of the knife.

Peter Henckels, a German knife-maker, founded Henckels on June 13, 1731. The logo was registered with the Cutlers’ Guild of Solingen, making Zwilling one of the earliest examples of a trademarked company In 1771, Peter’s son Johann Abraham Henckels (1771–1850) – the later namesake of the company – was born. The Henckels logo has been in the current shape with a red background since 1969.

Indeed, Zwilling is the recognizable symbol for J. A. Henckels.  Furthermore, Zwilling means The Twins in German. All the quality Henckels kitchen knives have this symbol.  The single Twin symbol appears on Henckels knives which are not made in Germany. carry only a single “twin” symbol.
