This Buck 110-05-BK Black Leather Flap-Over Sheath has a snap fastener and the Buck logo. It fits the Model 110 Folding Hunter and other lockback folding knives with blades up to 5″. The sheath measures 5.75″ x 2.25″ and weighs 2 oz.

This sheath is formed to fit the knife. It has a belt loop. A strap with a metal snap secures the knife. Sheaths carry a 1 year warranty.

The sheath is used to protect the knife and as a carrier.

To provide sufficient protection, sheaths made of soft materials, such as leather, often have reinforcements, inside or outside of the sheath, made of metal sheet or other suitable materials having sufficient strength.

Sheaths are extremely important because they not only provide a means for carrying your knife, but sheaths also protect the blade from being exposed to the elements of nature and getting scratched.

Furthermore, leather is a very traditional material used to make sheaths. It’s also still one of the best types of sheath material to have. There are many good things about leather, but one of the main advantages is the aesthetics.

Leather is a well-known material that looks exceptional. Furthermore it feels nice in your hands and smells good. Leather hearkens back to the days cowboys and ruggedness. Leather is also very quiet when you’re pulling a knife in and out of the sheath.

Leather will become unusable if not cared for properly. Therefore, taking care of your sheath is important. The oils in the leather can dry out and cause the sheath to crack pretty quickly.

Leather comes from cured animal skin. In other words think about it like skin. For instance, do not let the leather stay wet for long periods. Leaving your sheath in the hot sun or near camp fires or furnaces dries out the natural oils. Don’t use products on your sheath you would not use on your own skin. Don’t put your wet, dirty or bloody knife in your sheath.

  • Don’t over-condition your sheath. Too many processes, too much oil, wax, harsh cleanings, and chemicals can wear your leather out, overly soften it, or overly harden it.
