Description

The opening of the Dexter-Russell Fillet Knife Sheath 20450 is 1.25″ x 14.63″. This scabbard fits the SOFGRIP and SANI-SAFE series of fillet knives. These knives range in size from 6” to 9”. . A securely riveted strap is the belt loop. Dexter-Russell uses white molded polypropylene for this scabbard. Made in Taiwan.

Furthermore, the white molded polypropylene makes this sheath both tough and sanitary. The Dexter-Russell Fillet Knife Sheath is textured. Not only is it slip-resistant but also easy-to-clean. It can withstand both high and low temperatures. Additionally, the handles of the Sani-Safe knives have the same material.

Henry Harrington established The Harrington Cutlery Company in 1818. It was in Southbridge, Massachusetts. As a matter of fact, he was a New England craftsman and inventor. Of course The Harrington Cutlery company was the first cutlery manufacturing company in the United States. Additionally, Harrington manufactured many types of implements. These included surgical equipment and shoe knives.

Firearms were equally important products. It is important to note that in 1884, Harrington introduced the Dexter trade name. He named it after one of his sons, Dexter Harrington. The Dexter line of kitchen and table cutlery became known for its high quality. Housewives and Chefs both used the Dexter brand knives.

Meanwhile, in Greenfield, MA., John Russell established The John Russell Cutlery Company in 1834. Notably, Russell’s factory was water powered. He built the factory on the banks of the Green River. He first produced chisels and ax heads. Additionally as the company grew, he began to produce large quantities of high quality hunting knives.

Finally, a merger occurred in 1933. Thus the two companies became the Russell Harrington Cutlery Company. The merged company was relocated to Southbridge, Massachusetts. Finally in 2001, the company changed its name to Dexter-Russell, Inc. to reflect its history.
