Description

The No.15 Effilé Stainless Steel Filleting Folding Knife measures 8.5″ when closed. Additionally, it measures 13″ when open. The mirror-polished blade measures 5.9″.  A quality stainless steel blade is one of its features.. It has a Padauk wood handle.  Additionally, the knife locks both when open or closed with the Virobloc locking ring.

The No.15 Effilé Stainless Steel Slim Folding Knife is the perfect tool for fishing aficionados. The flexible blade, sharp edge, and slim handle make it ideal for filleting fish. The knife is lightweight yet robust, and its elegant design makes it a fisherman’s favorite.

The Padauk wood is a tropical hardwood from Africa. Moreover, people prize it for it’s vibrant natural red and orange color. Additionally, this wood is naturally dense and highly water-resistant. Over time the color of the wood matures into a deep, luxurious burgandy-brown with exposure to light.

Joseph Opinel invented these iconic knives in 1890.  Made of rugged materials, Opinel crafts these knives high in the French Alps. In 1955, Marcel Opinel invented the Virobloc safety ring. No. 6 through No. 12. folding knives have this mechanism.

While the Padauk wood is water resistant it is still best to only hand wash this knife. Do not immerse your knife in water, as this could warp the wooden handle. Dry the blade before closing.

Stainless steel is used for the Vibrolock. The Vibrolock is cut out of stainless steel. It has two sections. One is fixed and one sliding. This lock provides safety when in use by keeping the blade open. In addition it is now possible to lock the blade closed providing safety on the go.

Additionally, Opinel also marks the No.15 Effilé Stainless Steel Filleting Folding Knife with a “crowned hand” hallmark etching. Opinel knives have long been a favorite with Europeans. One can find these knives in many types of work or hobbies such as farming, vineyards, crafts, etc.

Opinel strives to keep the knife high quality yet affordable. Consequently, Opinel offers a uniquely simple design. And most importantly, at an affordable cost, Opinel continues to produce these No.10 Opinel Carbon Knife OP-13100.
