Tri-Angle Sharpmaker Sharpening System
$107.95
The Sharpmaker takes the guesswork out of sharpening. Keyed holes in the base hold the stones at a true 30 or 40 degree angle, so all you do is keep the blade vertical and draw it down each stone. Two sets of high alumina ceramic stones are included: brown for medium grit, white for fine.

Description
Spyderco built the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker for people who want a genuinely sharp edge without learning to hold an angle by feel. The base does that part for you. Keep the blade vertical, draw it down the stone, and the geometry stays consistent from heel to tip.
What is in the box
- Two brown high alumina ceramic stones, medium grit, for setting an edge
- Two white high alumina ceramic stones, fine grit, for finishing it
- A set of aluminium safety rods that keep your hands clear of the blade
- An ABS base and lid that holds every part, so the kit stores as one piece
- An instruction book and a DVD covering knives, scissors, awls and other tools
Two angles, set by the base
The keyed holes in the base position the stones at 40 degrees inclusive, which is 20 degrees per side, or at 30 degrees inclusive, which is 15 degrees per side. Choose the setting that matches the edge you already have, then keep it consistent through both grits.
How to use it
Start on the brown stones to shape the edge and move to the white stones to refine it. Hold the plane of the blade vertical and draw the edge along the stone in a steady pass, alternating sides. A few minutes of practice is genuinely all it takes.
Serrated edges
Serrations sharpen on the rounded corners of the stones. Use a slightly looser grip so the corner can follow the recess of each serration rather than riding over it.
If you would rather we sharpened it for you, we have been doing that in the shop for five generations. Bring it in or send it to us.
