In-Store Sharpening

Our Sharpening Services are available both in-store and online. For customers in the greater Kentuckiana area, we stand ready to sharpen your knives and scissors. Simply bring your items for sharpening into the store during our operating hours. Once received, we will place a ticket on your items and enter them into the sharpening queue.

Standard Turnaround Times:

  • Knives: Normal sharpening rotation ranges from 7 to 10 days. Depending on the volume and time of year, this may extend to 10 days to 2 weeks.
  • Scissors: Generally, the turnaround time is 2 weeks, but during high-volume periods, it may extend to 3 weeks.

Rush Service: For a quicker turnaround, we offer a Rush Service for a fee of $5.00 to $10.00 depending on the number of items in your order. Every effort is made to ensure your knives and scissors are sharpened promptly.

Online Sharpening Services

We also provide Sharpening Services for our online customers. Detailed instructions for accessing these services are available when you select the appropriate item on our website. Return shipping costs are included in the listed price for each selection.

Specialized Sharpening Services

At Heimerdinger Cutlery, we provide sharpening services for various types of scissors, including:

  • Sewing scissors
  • Embroidery scissors
  • Hair styling and barbering scissors

All sharpening is performed in-store by our experienced team.

We also sharpen pruning shears, such as Felco, as well as lopping shears and hand-operated hedge shears. Additional sharpening services are available upon request.
